Crypt of the original sin

Located a few kilometers from the city of Sassi, inside a natural cave on the Murgia plateau, the Crypt of the original sin is an excellent example of rock art in the southern Italy. The Crypt of the Original Sin is adorned with a cycle of paintings back to the second half of the 8^th century depicted by the artist known as “The Flower of Painter”. It is known as the Cave of the Hundred Saints for the many Saints depicted in the frescoes on the walls.
