Park of the Rock Churches

Guided excursion in order to explore the “Regional Park of the rock- hewn churches”. Walking along the trail you will be struck by the charm of the Park, carved in the “Gravine”, where there are cultivated areas and some traces of Mediterranean scrub.

During the tour, you will have a unique spectacle that the rocks offer at sunset.

ITINERARY

Meeting in “Vittorio Veneto Square ” with the Authorized Regional guide and departure by our or your vehicle for arriving at the Regional Park. In particular, you will visit two of the 155 rock churches of the territory: The Rock-hewn Church of San Falcione with a beautiful fresco depicting “the presentation of Jesus at the temple” and The Rock-hewn church of Madonna delle Tre Porte, dating back to the 12^th century, with frescos of great artistic and historical value.

At the end of the excursion you will come back at the place of departure.

Tour goes on passing through the alleys and the tiny streets of Sassi, natural landscape of various movies such as “The Passion of Christ” by Mel Gibson and “Il Vangelo secondo Matteo” by Pier Paolo Pasolini. At the end of tour It is included a tasting of typical products.
