MATERA & SASSI GUIDED WALKING TOUR
The tour starts in Vittorio Veneto Square, a beautiful square where you can see an amazing panoramic view of Civita and Sasso Barisano. You can walk through the alleys of the historical center admiring important artistic and architectonical works and then you can arrive at the panoramic viewpoint of Piazza Duomo. During the tour, you can visit rock church, cave house and historical cellar.

Ancient political and administrative center of the city dominated by the Palazzo del Sedile.

Cave house
Typical home of Matera’s rural culture, furnished with antique furniture and tools in order to know customs and traditions of our ancestors.
Tour goes on passing through the alleys and the tiny streets of Sassi, natural landscape of various movies such as “The Passion of Christ” by Mel Gibson and “Il Vangelo secondo Matteo” by Pier Paolo Pasolini.
